This program will provide you with a comprehensive knowledge of design theory and history, communication and design skills, sustainable and socially conscious design, lighting and furniture design, code adherence, and professional practices. You’ll also develop fluency in the use of two- and three-dimensional design software and computer hardware, essential tools for the contemporary designer.
Our Expert Faculty
You will study with educators who are among the region’s top artists and designers. They work at the highest level of their fields and they are eager to share their expertise, insights, and professional contacts with you. You’ll have one-on-one access to these mentors and scholars, many of whom work at major design firms in Greater Boston.
Our faculty and students hail from countries around the world. This diversity will enrich your education and provide you with valuable global perspectives you can apply to your work. You can also gain international insights during our five-week Interior Design Studio & Art History summer program. Held at Suffolk’s Madrid campus, it focuses on theory and practice across cultures and time. Throughout your time at Suffolk, you can participate in on-campus exhibits and attend the school’s Annual Sustainable Design Trade Show.
No wonder NESAD graduates have found success as design show hosts on HGTV, lighting and exhibition designers and project managers, designers at nonprofit organizations, entrepreneurs, and members of leading interior and architectural firms around the world.
